FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is a design and build contract?
Design and build is a system used in the construction industry, in which the main contractor is appointed by the client to design and construct the project. The contractor together with the designer work hand in hand as a team to meet the client’s budget and schedule.
Is design build more expensive?
Not necessarily, based on your initial consultation we can develop a plan and specification that come within your budget. Some details and materials can be more cost effective than others, with our construction knowledge we can guide you through this process to achieve the balance between design and budget.
What are the advantages of design build?
Design and build gives you the opportunity to have input in the design process and create the house of your dreams.
What does your price include?
Our price includes everything from the design through to receiving your keys. All excluded items will be itemised in our detailed quote so you can compare “apples with apples”.
Will you quote for my own home design/sketch?
Yes we can work with you to develop your own design and give indicative advise on cost to bring it in on budget.
I’m a Tradie, can I reduce my cost by doing my own work?
Yes, as long as all work can be signed off by the appropriately qualified person and the work can be completed within the time frames given on the construction programme.
Do you offer a Guarantee?
Yes, all our builds come with a 10 year Registered Master Build Guarantee. At the final handover we also have a completion pack which includes all supplier warranties and care instructions.
How long does it usually take to build a new home?
Build length can vary depending on the size and complexity of the build. Once we have completed the concept design and visited the site we will be able to give you a staged programme from detailed design through to hand over. Typically 14-16 weeks from consent being issued.
